From January 2025, the UAE’s first government-owned EV charging network, UAEV, has introduced standardised tariffs set by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure:

Steps to apply for Green Charger Card Dubai
Download the DEWA App
- To create an EV account, open the app, navigate to the services section, select ‘Create EV Account’, and log in using your DEWA ID or UAE Pass.
Complete the Application
- To pay, enter vehicle details, pay a security deposit, and cover card delivery fees. A receipt will be provided upon payment.
Submit Your Application
- You’ll receive a confirmation message, a reference number, and instructions for activating your DEWA EV account, followed by an acknowledgment message with account details and charging instructions.
Receive Your Card
- EV Green Charger Card will be delivered via courier within 3 working days of account creation.
Note: You can also apply for the card through the ‘Dubai Now’ app, the DEWA website, or by visiting a DEWA Customer Care Centre.
How can you charge your vehicle without an account?
You can just got op DEWA in “Guest Mode”, then follow the below steps
- Scan the QR code at the charging station.
- Register your details, select your preferred charging duration, and pay the fees.
- The amount will be held temporarily, and you’ll be charged based on actual consumption.
- Charging will stop automatically at the selected time limit.
- A final summary will appear on-screen, and you’ll receive a payment confirmation and tax invoice via email.
DEWA Green Charger registration
Registered users can access their EV User Dashboard to:
- Track requests and navigate between multiple EV accounts.
- View and pay outstanding amounts.
- Check billing, payment, and charging history.
- Monitor EV charger consumption graphs.
- Locate and view the status of nearby EV Green Charger stations.
- Manage cards and access DEWA Store offers and additional services.
How to use DEWA Green Charger Card at the Charging Stations?
- Using the DEWA or Dubai Now apps, locate the nearest EV Green Charger station. These platforms provide maps, instructions, and real-time charger status.
- Scan your EV Green Charger Card to initiate the charging cycle.
- Plug in the charging cable.
- When charging is complete, scan your card again to stop the process and unplug the cable.
- The charging fees will be added to your upcoming Green Bill.
If you wish to Deactivate DEWA EV Charger Account, follow the steps given below
- DEWA facilitates the user to deactivate their EV account free of charge.
- If the users have planned to deactivate their DEWA EV account, they receive their final bill on the registered email.
What can i do, if I want to Replace / Lost / Damaged DEWA EV Charger Card in Dubai?
EV Car owner may request through online / visit the Customer Happiness Centre in Dubai. You’ve to pay AED 200 plus VAT to replace the damaged, lost, or stolen card.
If you applied online, the new Card will be delivered in 3 workings days. Customers can receive the card immediately when they register at the DEWA customer happiness centre.
