Emirates ID:
Emirates ID is an identity card required for the UAE and GCC nationals, expats which is necessary for all kind of services such as applying the internet connection, open the account in a bank, any payment in government services, getting DEWA connection, vehicle registration, company registration and more.
Use of Emirates card
Emirates card will be used
- for all type of Government services
- for applying for the new internet connection
- for buying the sim cards
- for voting the election
- for traveling within the GCC as a travel document
- to pass immigration using eGates and smart gates at the airports in UAE and more.

Emirates ID Card issuance and service Fee
Cost of applying / getting Emirates ID card
- For 1 year: 100 dirhams
- For 2 years: 200 dirhams
- For 3 years: 300 dirhams
- Service fee: 40 dirhams
- Urgent Service fee (Fawri): 150 dirhams
- Printing office fee: 30 dirhams
At Customer Happiness Centers
- 1 year: 100 + 40 + 150 = 290 dirhams.
- 2 years: 200 + 40 + 150 = 390 dirhams.
- 3 years: 300 + 40 + 150 = 490 dirhams.
Electronic form system / smart application
- 1 year: 100 + 40 = 140 dirhams.
- 2 years: 200 + 40 = 240 dirhams.
- 3 years: 300 + 40 = 340 dirhams.
- 1 year: 100 + 40 + 30 = 170 dirhams.
- 2 years: 200 + 40 + 30 = 270 dirhams
- 3 years: 300 + 40 + 30 = 370 dirhams.
Fine:
If the application will not be submitted with in 30 days, a fine will be imposed for everyday.
- Per day: 20 AED
- Maximum: 1000 AED
Documents required to apply Emirates ID:
For UAE nationals
- A original valid passport
- A original Family Book
For GCC nationals
- A original valid passport
- A original Valid GCC ID Card
- A valid proof of residence in UAE
For expatriate/resident
- A original valid passport
- A original valid entry visa
- A valid residence permit
For children under 15 years old
- A personal photo (4.5 x 3.5 cm) with a white background
- A original valid passport
- A original valid entry visa
- Original birth certificate
- Passport of one of the parents or Emirates ID card (less than 15 years old)
For the elderly and people of determination
- A personal photo (4.5 x 3.5 cm) with a white background
- A original valid passport
- A original valid entry visa
- A valid medical report issued by the Ministry of Health or health authorities in the Emirates to exempt people of determination or the elderly from the fees for issuing an ID card.
Procedure to apply Emirates ID card in Dubai, UAE

Procedure to apply Emirates ID card through the typing center in UAE
- Go to the authorized typing centre
- Fill the application form to apply for Emirates ID.
- Once the application form is completed, pay the required fees
- Customers will receive an acknowledgement SMS on your registered mobile number
- Visit the EIDA office to complete the biometric verification.
- Complete the medical examination in any authorized center (Lung x-ray and blood test)
- Once all the verification and medical test done, the residence visa will be stamped.
- Customers will be given a registration number to track the status of the application.
- Customers finally receive the SMS from Emirates post if the card is ready for the collection.
- If the card is not collected with in 90 days, it will be returned
Procedure to apply Emirates ID card for the dependent in UAE
If you are applying the Emirates ID on behalf of another person, you can apply through FAIC website or Smart App.
- Visit the website
- Fill the application form online
- Pay the required fees
- Customers will receive an acknowledgement SMS on your registered mobile number
- Visit the EIDA office to complete the biometric verification.
- Complete the medical examination in any authorized center (Lung x-ray and blood test)

Time taken to issue the Emirates ID card
Processing time: 5 working days for the normal service and 24 hours for the urgent service.
