With ekar and Udrive’s green-painted automobiles now ubiquitous sights on our highways, pay-by-the-minute car-rental companies have seized the United Arab Emirates by storm.
Models like the Chevrolet Spark, Nissan Tiida, and Toyota Yaris were previously unavailable to Udrive users, but that has all changed with the launch of the company’s Premium Model lineup.
The UAE-based start-up was founded in 2017 and has already raised USD 1 million in funding, with a triple-digit return for investors.
Since its launch two years ago, Udrive has amassed a user base of more than 73,000 and logged more than 478,000 journeys.
Fuel, parking, insurance, and a daily mileage allowance of 200 kilometers are included in the rental fee.
It has also added cars in Ajman and started its Intercity service, which for a Dh75 price allows drivers to return to different emirates from where they picked up the car, between Sharjah/Ajman to Abu Dhabi and vice versa.

As of January 2017, Udrive is a car rental app that lets customers reserve and locates a vehicle at a place that is convenient for them, then simply drive away.
Udrive charges by the minute and lets you leave your car anywhere you like at the end of your trip. When it comes to renting a short-term car, Uber is a more economical option than other short-term car rental options in the city.
