Where to renew a Bangladeshi passport from Dubai?

While in the UAE, all Bangladeshi expats are required to obtain Machine Readable Passports (MRPs). To renew MRPs, those who already have them can go to their home country’s embassy or consulate in the UAE:

Procedure for renewal Bangladeshi passport from Dubai

When applying for a Machine Readable Passport (MRP), you must provide a 17-digit number, which can come from either your National Identity (NID) or Birth Registration Certificate (BRC).

An online Birth Registration Certificate (BRC) number can be obtained from Bangladesh for Bangladeshi expatriates who do not have a National Identification Number (NID).

Hand Written Passport to Machine Readable Passport (MRP)

Requirements/Documents 

  • Fill out the Re-issue form as directed. For free, this form can be obtained from the Embassy website or the DIP website, or from the Embassy front desk.
  • Copy of current visa page and existing MRP information pages enclosed.
  • Make sure to bring your original MRP with you when you deposit the fee and enroll in the program.
  • As soon as all necessary checks and enrollment procedures have been carried out, the operator will issue a refund for any previously paid MRP.
  • The 17-digit birth certificate and the 17/13-digit National ID, both of which were provided at the time of issuance, should be attached.
  • In the event that an applicant wishes to alter or correct any information in the MRP (such as name, parents name, spouse name, marital status, permanent address, Profession, etc.)Please attach a copy of your proof of correction/alteration, as well as the prescribed form, to support your claim (s). Fill out the DIP form 1 & DIP form 2. Please attach a certified/attested copy of your education or professional certificate with your application if you are a technical expert, such as an engineer, physician, legal practitioner, teacher, or driver.
  • The completed re-issue form must be accompanied by the original Payment Slip for the applicable MRP re-issue fees.
  • Present yourself in person at the Embassy with the completed MRP re-issue form and all of the required documentation for enrolling in the program.

Machine Readable Passport for New Born & Child (up to 3 years old)

  • Fill Online MRP application form.
  • The Embassy does not require a newborn baby or child (up to 3 years old) to come in for biometrics.
  • A copy of the completed MRP application form (4 pages with bar-codes) signed by an authorized officer of the Embassy or by an approved attester is required. It is necessary to include the attestor’s address and seal on page 4 of the form.
  • The child’s birth certificate (which includes a 17-digit number) and copies of both parents’ Bangladesh passports are required. The Bangladesh Embassy can process BRCs.
  • In addition to the child’s and parents’ 3R-sized photos, please include a copy of the child’s birth certificate.
  • Authenticated copies of the parent’s marriage certificate and nikahnama The Ministry of Law, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Bangladesh Embassy must authenticate the marriage certificate and nikahnama.

Delivery of Passport

The Embassy’s regular delivery of MRP may take between 30 and 40 working days. To collect their MRPs, applicants are urged to visit the Embassy on the delivery slip’s stated date. Check your MRP Application Status on the DIP website if necessary.
