New Salik Gate in Dubai in next few weeks

Dubai is adding one more Salik Gate to reduce congestion on Sheik Zayed road. The salik gate is coming near Ibn Batuta Mall. The toll gate is expected to encourage motorists to use Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Road.

The toll gate is expected to become operational in few weeks when the construction of bridge on Yalayis street is completed.

The new toll gate is expected to generate annual revenues of more than Dh300 million. The Salik gates generate an estimated Dh2 billion annually.

Revenues for RTA

– Dh2 billion from Salik gates
– Dh4.8 billion from metro station naming rights and advertisements in last 10 years
– Dh2.88 billion allocated for Expo 2020 metro extension
– In 2016, RTA had a 7.609 Billions Budget and 7.5 Billions projected revenues

  1. No more Salik gates please. We are already under great stress after the cool down time between the salik gates were removed earlier. 300 million salik per year is too much money from the people to the government.
