🇦🇪 UAE – A Key Destination for Pakistani Expats
The United Arab Emirates remains one of the most important destinations for Pakistani expatriates. The UAE is home to over 1.7 million Pakistanis, making it the second-largest host country after Saudi Arabia.
Across the Gulf region, more than 5.5 million Pakistanis live and work, while approximately 10.3 million are employed globally.
In 2024 alone, more than 64,000 Pakistanis moved to the UAE. The Pakistani diaspora continues to play a vital role in the country’s economy, remitting $3.5 billion in January 2026, with the UAE contributing $694 million. Dubai led remittances at $544.75 million, followed by Abu Dhabi at $126.11 million.
Strengthening UAE–Pakistan Ties
Recently, Pakistan and the UAE agreed to sign a pre-immigration clearance agreement for Pakistani nationals travelling to the UAE, further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
