Etihad Rail – The UAE’s National Rail Network

Etihad rail connects the UAE and the GCC. Now 70% of the work has completed. Etihad rail is 1200 km network that extends across the UAE form Saudi Arabia’s border  to the Oman’s border.

It is a 1200 km and $11bn rail network project by Etihad Rail which will continue as 3 phases where the first phase commenced on January 2016, second phase will be operational by 2024. This will be both freight and passenger train.

Before the commencement of any project that has obtained a Construction NOC from Etihad Rail, the requester should contact Etihad Rail DB, the Etihad Rail operator, to obtain a “Permit to Work”.
