Dubai Police Crack Down on Jet Ski Violations with Fines Up to Dh5,000.

In a recent enforcement effort, the Dubai Police issued fines totalling up to Dh5,000 as they registered 160 violations against jet ski owners. Additionally, owners of other maritime vessels were cited for 52 offences over the past two months.

The violations encompassed a range of infractions including operating jet skis with expired licenses, entering prohibited zones such as swimming areas and hotel beaches, failing to adhere to designated operating times, not wearing life jackets, allowing underage individuals to operate the vessels, and overloading the watercraft.

In a press statement, Brigadier Dr. Hassan Suhail, Director of the Port Police Station, detailed that these jet ski violations occurred across various beach areas in Dubai. He emphasized that operating a jet ski with an expired license incurs a Dh1,000 fine, while using it outside authorized times results in a Dh2,000 fine. Moreover, entering restricted areas can lead to a penalty of up to Dh5,000.

Brigadier Suhail also highlighted the importance of adhering to safety regulations, cautioning against overloading vessels and noting that failing to wear the required safety equipment could result in a Dh3,000 fine. He stressed that these measures are crucial for ensuring the safety and lives of all maritime users in Dubai.
