Archies Bookshop & Lending Library is one of the very few private libraries in Dubai. Located in Karama in walking distance from BurJuman Metro Station and Burjuman Mall, this library boasts of 75000 books all of which can be either bought or borrowed from the library.
The library’s book collection is extensive and includes multiple shelves for each of the authors such as Agatha Christie, Dan Brown, Michael Crichton just to name a few. The shop sells used books which can be bought and then returned to the library for 50% of the cost of purchase. New books can also be purchased from the bookshop.
The library’s membership scheme is as below.

The library offers 2 types of memberships.
Scheme 1: (basic membership where there is a reading charge for each book borrowed)
Monthly – Dh 21
2 Months – Dh 37
3 Months – Dh 53
6 Months – Dh 95
12 Months – Dh 150
Reading charges applicable for each book. For example: Asterix comics reading charge – Dh 8 per book with most books in the range of Dh 8 – Dh 12 for 2 weeks.
Scheme 2: (Premium membership without any reading charges)
Monthly – Dh 110
3 Months – Dh 300
6 Months – Dh 550
12 Months – Dh 1000
No reading charges applicable.
4 books can be borrowed ever time or 6 small books for a week.
