6 Days Free Parking in Dubai for Eid, RTA reveals Public Transport Timings

With the official Eid holiday dates announced, UAE residents gear up towards a week-long Eid break working on plans on what to do and where to go. If your plans are to stick around in Dubai, there’s good news for you. You can park your cars in Dubai for free for the whole week. RTA has announced 6 days free parking in Dubai for Eid. It also confirmed that all paid parking zones will be free to use from Sunday June 2, until Friday, June 7 during the Eid Al Fitr holidays. From the next day, June 8 onwards, they will resume charging fees. However, multi-level parking terminals will continue to charge fees during the Eid period

It also confirmed that Public transport timings will differ during Eid al-Fitr. Here are the revised timings for public transport and service centres.

Metro Timings

Commuters using public transport can stay out a little longer during the Eid Al-Fitr holidays as the metro services will be running until late, adding to the convenience of residents and holiday revelers. The changes announced by the RTA will see metro stations on the Red and Green Lines operate until 2.00am until Saturday, 8 June.

  • Monday 3 June to Thursday 6 June – 5.00am to 2.00am
  • Friday 7 June – 10.00am to 2.00 am
  • Saturday 8 June – 5.00am to 2.00 am

Green Line Operating Hours

  • Monday 3 June to Thursday 6 June – 5.30am to 2.00am
  • Friday 7 June – 10.00am to 2.00am
  • Saturday 8 June – 5.30am to 2.00am

Added to this, metro feeder bus stations at Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa, Al Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Abu Hail and Etisalat will be in service from 5.00am to 2.10am next week. Timing of the feeder bus service will be synchronized with metro timetables.

Tram Operating Hours

  • Saturday 1 June to Thursday 6 June – 6.00am to 1.00am
  • Friday 7 June – 09.00am to 01.00am

Public Bus Timings

Dubai’s fleet of public buses will be running round the clock. For a full break down of bus station timings, sub-stations, inter-city buses and stations in Sharjah, Fujairah and Hatta, see the RTA’s website. Dubai’s main bus stations, such as Gold Souq, will operate from 4.25am to 00:29am (past midnight), with the Al Ghubaiba Station in service from 4.14am to 00:58am (past midnight). Sub-stations, such as Satwa, will start from 4.57am to 11.03pm. Route C01, however, will be operating around-the-clock. Al Qusais Station will be in operation from 4.34am to 12.08am, Al Quoz Industrial Station from 5.05am to 11.35pm and Jebel Ali Station will operate from 5am and continue up to 11:22pm. Commercial and intercity buses at main stations like Al Ghubaibah will run 24 hours to Al Sharjah and from 4:40am to 12:01am the next day to Abu Dhabi.

Marine transport timings

Water Buses will be operating at Marina Stations (Marina Mall, Marina Walk, Marina Terrace, Marina Promenade) from 12 noon up to midnight. During the first three days of Eid holidays, Dubai Ferry will be calling at Ghubaiba and Marina Stations at 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 6.30 pm. It will call at Jaddaf Water Canal at 8am, 11.50am and 3.40pm.

Abra

The traditional abra will operate at Dubai Creek Stations (Dubai Old Souq to Baniyas), (Ghubaiba to Sabkha), (Sabkha to Fahidi), and (Baniyas to Seef) from 10am to 1am (of the following day).

Abras at the Sheikh Zayed Road,will operate from 4pm to 11.30pm. The air-conditioned abra will visit Jaddaf and Dubai Festival City from 9am to 1am (of the following day).

The electric abra at Burj Khalifa will operate from 6pm to 11pm and those at Marina, Seef, Dubai Festivity City, Baniyas, and Al Fahidi will run from 4pm to 11.30pm.
