UAE declares holidays for Eid Al Adha in 2023

The official Eid Al Adha vacations for federal departments and organisations have been issued by the UAE. Four days will be set aside for vacation to honour the Islamic holiday. The break will probably last a full six days.

According to the Islamic Hijri calendar, the break runs from Dhul Hijjah 9 to 12 according to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR). Arafat Day, which falls on Dhul Hijjah 9, is regarded as the most sacred day in Islam. Eid Al Adha, also called the festival of sacrifice, will be observed for three days following that.

On June 18, when officials attempt to locate the crescent moon that denotes the beginning of an Islamic month, the equivalent dates on the Gregorian calendar will be identified. Astronomical estimates indicate that June 27—Arafat Day—will be the first day of the break. Eid is anticipated to fall on June 28 the following day. As a result, the break will probably take place from Tuesday, June 27, to Friday, June 30. The longest official holiday of the year is a six-day respite if you include the Saturday-Sunday weekend.

Residents have only Monday, June 26, to work after their previous weekend, then have the rest of the week off. To make the vacation nine days long, some people are skipping Monday.

On July 3, employees will return to their places of employment.
