From now on, you need to pay a Dh300 transportation fee if your car is confiscated by the police for traffic violation or criminal case. While the cost of vehicle transportation is calculated according to the car’s size, it will certainly not be less than 300 Dirhams.
Fees for Car Confiscation
This new regulation came into effect after the Dubai Police General Department of Traffic privatized the management of vehicle confiscation area. Emirates Parking Company has taken over the charge of confiscated vehicles at an estimated budget of Dh20 million per year.
Vehicle Transportation Cost vary according to the Size
- Light vehicles of and up to 3 tonnes – Dh300
- Heavy vehicles of and up to 7 tonnes – Dh2,200
- Heavy vehicles of and more than 7 tonnes – Will be decided on a case-to-case basis
Keeping Vehicles at Confiscation Ground
- Light vehicles (owned by individuals) – Dh20 per day
- Other light vehicles – Dh40 per day
- Heavy vehicles – Dh75 per day
