What is Monkeypox virus?
Monkeypox is a zoonotic (origin from an animal) disease caused by monkeypox virus (MPXV), which is a member of Orthopoxvirus genus in the Poxviridae family.
Symptoms of Monkeypox virus
- Fever,
- skin rashes,
- muscle and back ache,
- lesion.
Mode of transmission: Animal to Human / Human to Human from the lesion (fluid)
Recovery period: minimum of 4 days and maximum of 21 days to get a full recovery.
Originated From: Discovered and recorded in the year 1970 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo; several central and western African countries.
