How to exchange a foreign driving license to Dubai license in UAE?
- Customer who wants to apply online can visit and apply here
- Can apply at RTA Customer happiness centre
- Can apply at Hatta Tasjeel Centre
- Once the driving data is verified through the above places, email will be sent to download the copy of the transaction receipt
Validity: 1 year for the customers below 21 years old and 2 years for the customers 21 years and above
Documents required:
- Original driving licence from the exception countries (Holders of paper driving licences must submit a letter from the consulate)
- Electronic eye test
- Original valid Emirates ID
- Legalized translation of the licence if it was not in English or Arabic (check the table in Terms and Conditions)
For residents with a visa issued in another emirate (the company has a branch in Dubai and the customer works there)
- Original valid Emirates ID
- Electronic eye test
- Trade licence copy of both branches (Dubai and other Emirates)
- Letter from the company certifying that the customer works in Dubai branch
For exchanging Singapore driving licence
- Knowledge Test result from Deira Licensing Department
Customers with diplomatic passport
- Diplomatic passport + copy
- Original driving licence
- Electronic eye test
- Letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affaires valid for at least 6 months from the date of submission
- Diplomatic Cards for Embassies, Consulates and International Organisations instead of the Emirates ID.
Customers having a licence from exception countries but their nationality is not from the listed countries
- Knowledge test result
- Driving test result
- Yard test result.

- To open a file: 200 AED
- Issuing a licence: 600 AED
- Handbook manual: 50 AED
- Knowledge and innovation fees: +20 AED
For Singaporean driving licence holders

- 100 AED for issuing a learning application
- 50 AED for the handbook manual
- 400 AED for instant knowledge test
