How to apply and obtain Birth certificate? Lost / Replace / Modify / Re-issue birth certificate in UAE

Apply and obtain a Birth certificate in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, Al ain, Ras al Khaimah, Umm al Quwain

Parents or Guardians who wish to request a birth certificate in UAE should apply through

Registration

  • Log in here using a UAE pass or register if you are an existing user.
  • New users must register using their User name, Email, Mobile Number, Emirates ID
  • Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email to activate your registration.

 

Select the required process whether you want to request

  • a new Birth Certificate (or)
  • Birth Certificate Modification (or)
  • Birth Certificate Lost/Replacement (or)
  • Birth Certificate Reissue

 

How to Register Your Baby’s Birth in Dubai

  • Submit the application via the e-system and pay the fees online.
  • Obtaining the certificate may involve having it delivered to the interested party or a representative, as well as visiting a public health facility within the same emirate to check that the certificate matches the original documentation.

Applying through Mabrouk Ma Yak Package:

  • Submit the application
  • Send the application to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship after paying the certificate issue cost.

Applying through public health center or hospital

  • Pay the cost and submit the application using the online method.
  • The birth certificate will be issued after the original documents and copies have been authenticated.
  • a representative of the interested party accepting the certificate.

What is the service fee?

  • Application fees are AED 65 (including e-Dirham charge) for an Arabic certificate and AED 65 (including e-Dirham charge) for an English certificate (If requested)

What are the documents required?

  • an electronic birth announcement from the hospital where the baby was delivered.
  • Registration can be done online, in a public health facility, or at a hospital using an application through e-services on a website.
  • First-born national child’s marriage certificate in both its original and a copy.
  • Copies and originals of father’s and mother’s passports and IDs.

In case of birth abroad, in addition to the above, the following documents are required:

  • embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the nation of birth and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs certifies to the birth certificate.
  • the entry stamp on a newborn’s passport.
  • letter from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship stating that it has no objections to the replacement of an overseas birth certificate with one issued in the United Arab Emirates.

Expatriate residents

  • Original marriage license, copies of the originals of the parents’ passports, or original Emirates identification cards.

For out-of-hospital births, in addition to the above documents, the following are required:

  • a letter from the court confirming that the baby was born at home, together with the location, date, and names of the parents.

Issue of a Replacement for Lost Birth certificate

  • You can either submit the application through a public health clinic or online and pay the required money.
  • The birth certificate will be issued after the original documents and copies have been authenticated.
  • The certificate should be picked up by the father or his agent from Public health clinics, or if the client prefers, they can receive an electronic copy by email.
