Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the second phase of its initiative to upgrade waiting areas at major marine transport stations, reinforcing its commitment to world-class public services.

How does Dubai Marine Stations designed?

The latest upgrades include advanced air-conditioning systems, designated waiting areas for customers and those of determination, among other enhancements. The stations in Dubai are designed with a distinctive teak wood exterior, reminiscent of traditional wooden abras that have been sailing the city’s waters for decades.

He said that the initiative supports Dubai’s vision of delivering world-class public transport services, improving connectivity between major landmarks, and integrating marine stations with other transport modes like buses, metro and trams.

The upgrades in Dubai aimed at promoting public transport and reducing reliance on private vehicles, thus contributing to its sustainability goals.

Safety remains a top priority in the new designs, with features including advanced surveillance systems and state-of-the-art fire alarms. The stations will adhere to the Dubai Universal Design Code, ensuring inclusivity for People of Determination through thoughtfully designed ramps, accessible pathways, and supportive facilities.

Dubai’s public transport system is enhancing mobility for residents and visitors, reducing private vehicle reliance, and ensuring seamless intermodal connectivity.
