Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has added 250 new electric taxis to its fleet, aiming to provide a more hygienic and comfortable ride for Dubai’s residents and tourists. This is in line with the 2023 UAE “Year of Sustainability” initiative. This efficiency will increase the number of Dubai Taxi Company’s environmentally friendly vehicles to 87%.
DTC currently has 6,210 taxis, and this new on-boarding establishment will add about Dh85 million in annual revenue. Mansoor Rahma Albalasi, CEO of DTC, said the move will enhance DTC’s ability to expand its services in Dubai and internationally, and strengthen partnerships with leading companies in the smart and sustainable transportation industry.
Also, these measures will help increase DTC’s vehicle registration to over 9,000 vehicles (including taxis, limousines, buses, motorcycles). Through this, DTC will position itself as a leading transport solutions provider and play a key role in the revenue growth of the business, Albalasi said.
