The Government of Dubai has launched a new public transport scheme called ‘Rail Bus‘ at the World Government Summit. Developed by RTA (Roads and Transport Authority), the vehicle can reach a speed of 100 km/h and can carry 40 passengers. Measuring 11.5 meters long and 2.65 meters wide, it is fully solar powered and fully automated.
The program supports national goals such as Dubai 2030 Self-Driving Transport Strategy, UAE Net Zero 2050, and Zero-Emission Public Transport 2050. It will improve Dubai’s transport system and help make the city a smart city. The service’s launch date is yet to be confirmed, but is expected to transform the city’s transport infrastructure once implemented.
