A new initiative will soon enable tourists visiting the UAE to obtain health insurance while applying for their visas. Announced on Monday by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), the “health insurance for tourist visas” is part of their latest transformative projects.
Travelers can purchase this insurance when they apply for permits online through the ICP website or app. This option can complement standard travel insurance, and there may be future combinations offered by insurance companies.

Major-General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, the director-general of the authority, highlighted that the project will streamline the process of acquiring health insurance for tourists. It will provide emergency health coverage through an electronic platform that manages the pricing and issuance of packages from major UAE insurance providers.
