From fancy 5-star hotels and big-name restaurants to giant shopping malls and performance venues, these are the new launches in Dubai we’re looking forward to. SKY2.0

Lebanon’s most famous club will be hitting Dubai early this year. The Lebanese restaurant is well known for the Beirut rooftop bar often spotted with celebrities like Nicole Scherzinger and Tinie Tempah. The UAE version, which will be located in Dubai Design District, is all set to be along the same lines.

O Beach Ibiza

This autmn, O Beach Ibiza will be opening its rebranded Spanish outlet. The lavish beach resort on the west coast of Ibiza, is widely known for hosting star-studded poolside parties and world-famous live concerts by DJs and impressive aerial artists. Candypants has already hosted regular events there, so some exciting UAE collaborations are expected this season.

Indya by Vineet

Vineet Bhatia, the world’s first chef to receive a Michelin star for Indian cuisine will be opening his second Dubai outlet at Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa soon. His restaurant, Indego by Vineet has gained popularity for its vibe and fine-dining-style food. The new one, however, promises to give “a whole new meaning to Indian street food”. Vineet will be offering classic dishes with a contemporary upgrade, all served in a vibrant, colourful and eclectic backdrop.

Taj Exotica Resort & Spa and Taj JLT

The Taj Group, one of India’s largest hospitality companies will be launching the Middle East’s first Vivanta in Jumeirah Lakes Tower. It will also have five-star Taj Exotica Resort & Spa on Palm Jumeirah’s western crescent to follow.

Performance and Arts

You can look forward for plenty of performances in the UAE this year, but there are a couple of new venues too that are set to blow the stage doors wide open

Dubai Arena

It will be the UAE’s largest indoor arena welcoming 17,000 spectators when it opens in Dubai’s City Walk later this year. It can accommodate everything from live concerts to sporting events and gala dinners year-round. Its watertight roof structure weighing approximate 4,000 tonnes (equivalent to seven A380 airplanes) has been designed to allow for excellent acoustics. Spectators will get the opportunity to witness the world’s most talented performers and sporting events in the heart of Dubai.

The Arts Club

The Arts Club, London’s most famous private members institution is set to open up in the new ICD Brookfield development in DIFC. It is a haven for anyone who has a professional or amateur interest in arts, literature or sciences. The Dubai space will stretch across 5 floors and include a rooftop terrace, 3 restaurants and bars, a cigar club, exhibition spaces and a business centre.

Is your New Year’s resolution ‘save money’? Don’t expect it to last too long, as Dubai is about to welcome 4 incredible new shopping hubs.

Festival Plaza

You must visit Jebel Ali this year, as the new shopping mall allows its shiny new doors to slide open on a yet-to-be-confirmed date. It will be launched with 40 restaurants and cafes and 120 stores, 50-seater food court and 2,310 parking spaces. Most excitingly, it will home to Dubai’s second Ikea branch and a premium branch of India’s PVR Cinemas.

Nakheel Mall

Though the launch date has not been scheduled, it is assured to open this year. The new Palm Jumeirah mall will host 350 shops, restaurants and leisure attractions across 5 floors, plus 3 underground parking levels. It will also have a monorail station and a restaurant-laden roof plaza, an access point for The Palm Tower viewing deck.

Cityland Mall

 

The nature-inspired mall expanding over 205,000- square-metres will feature more than 350 retail stores, 16 cinema screens, 75 dining outlets and 6,000 shaded parking spaces. Moreover, it will also house a sprawling 18,600-square-metre open-air garden called Central Park. That’ll include a mini Miracle Garden, Water Park, walking track, 300-year-old ancient tree garden, a 360-degree, foliage-strewn rooftop area and a series of restaurants and cafes.
