And for all hotels in Dubai, engrossed in organizing those beautiful Ramadan tents to give you the authentic Arabian Iftar experience; here are the new smoking rules put up by the Dubai Municipality.

New Smoking Rules For Ramadan Tents in Dubai
- Ramadan tents should be within the borders of the hotel. It should not merge with other hotel facilities and restaurants
- Tent entrance should be separate from the hotel entrance.
- Temporary tents should have proper ventilation and air conditioning.
- All fabrics used inside the tent should be fire resistant
- To provide shisha services, a permit must be obtained from the Civil Defence
- Smoking permit can be lifted, regardless of its validity, in case of any complaints.
- Shisha preparing areas should be completely isolated from the tent.
- Shisha being offered outdoors is prohibited.
- The tents will be open during Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr, in addition to 5 working days for dismantling the tent.
- The permit will not be valid in case of violation of one of the conditions stipulated in Federal Law on Tobacco Control.
- The permit stands invalid in the event of any change in the location.
- No smoking sign must be placed in all smoke-free locations and people under the age of 18 are not allowed to enter.
- A warning poster must be placed at the smoking area entrance.
- Smoking guests should be kept away from nonsmokers, with a minimum distance of 3 feet.
- Smoking area should be at least 25 feet away from the exits and entrances of the tents, and ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
- The tent should have a clear emergency exit, equipped with fire extinguishers and a first aid kit
- Hotel employees should be trained in case of an emergency.
- All hotel employees must obtain valid occupational health cards.

Inspection teams will be monitoring Ramadan tents from Iftar time until they close. Perhaps, tent permit is approved only after a municipality team conducts a field visit to the site to ensure the compliance of the tent layout with smoking and non-smoking rules, locations, and all safety stipulations prior to issuing a shisha licence. Hence hotels must abide by the new smoking rules for Ramadan tents.
