The VP Transformation Office (VPTO) is responsible for management, coordination and oversight of all initiatives in the IT Transformation Programmes. The VPTPO, together with his team of Programme Managers, Business Analysts, Executive Sponsors and teams, plans, schedules, conducts, coordinates milestones and activities. VPTPO will also coordinate Transformation activities through a matrix structure of Group HR, Change Management & Communication and IT Finance teams.

The VPTPO is accountable and will be the custodian of the Transformation Master Schedule including a robust governance model.

Leading the Transformation Programme Office, your main responsibilities will be:

• Actively engages and aligns the multiple stakeholder groups to execute the smooth delivery of the 26Transformation Programmes
• Coordinates initiatives in the IT Transformation Programme, together with respective sponsors and teams
• Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with assigned Programme participants and acts as focal point for Transformation Programme related activities
• Establishes, maintains, and leads the Transformation Office team, including establishment of Programme plans and enabling processes
• Together with the initiative sponsors, drives Programme and project performance, (e.g., delivery on commitments, quality, responsiveness, reliability, service, and development) and financial performance (e.g., revenue, contribution margin, billing, receivables, warranty, and growth process)
• Together with Programme Managers manage the governance and controlling process for the project portfolio throughout the project lifecycle - from project planning (use case and business case development, milestone and end product planning, resource planning, benefits, etc.), ramp-up and execution, through to project closure
• Provides technical expertise in planning, and leadership of Programme, projects, and initiatives
• Controls Programme scope, baseline changes, and net investment during design, development, and production of assigned Programmes
• Maintains excellent relationships with all levels of the matrix organization
• Ensures appropriate resolution of issues and mitigation/remediation of risks/Impediments
• Ensures timely, accurate and transparent reporting on progress of the IT Transformation Programme to all relevant stakeholders
• Support the execution of the Transformation Programmes by creating transparency and facilitating decision making on the Programme progress
• Together with Finance ensures detailed tracking of transformation related benefits
• Supports the definition and ensures execution of change management initiatives (e.g., frequent communication, training academy)
• Ensures provision of required talent to deliver IT transformation and BAU activities(full lifecycle: onboarding, upskilling, evaluation, exiting)

Main Tasks:

• Ownership of the Transformation Master Schedule
• Ownership of the Transformation Office Governance Model
• Ownership of Transformation Programme budget and finances with support from ITO Finance Team
• Setup and manage Programme Office War room and make visible inter-connected projects and dependencies
• Decide on suitable strategies and objectives
• Actively drive delivery and dependencies to meet deadlines, budgets and activities
• Effectively apply change, risk and resource management
• Assess Programme performance and aim to maximize ROI
• Ensure preparation of reports on the progress of projects or Programmes and metrics for all stakeholders
• Conduct required activities to enable benefits realization
• Assesses the value and organizational impact of the Programme
• Identifies the interdependencies of benefits being delivered among various projects within the Programme
• Ensures that targeted benefits are specific, measurable, actual, realistic and time-based
• Analyzes the potential impact of planned Programme changes on benefits outcome
• Assigns responsibilities and accountability for the actual benefits required from the Programme
• Build and maintain Stakeholder Matrix
• Oversee preparation and execution of Change Management & Communication Plan
• Actively collect feedback from stakeholders
• Establishing and leading senior executive-level communication forums (EXCO and ITSC) and Programme/projects channels across Group IT


Key knowledge & experience:

• Strong experience in project management
• Understanding IT environment
• Experience implementing projects and coordinating large Programmes of work
• Lead Transformation Programme (project management capability)
• Personal impact in terms of influencing, coaching and communication skills
• Ability to blend maturity with willingness to roll up the sleeves as and when required
• Ability to work across organization at all levels
• Ability to influence, coach/mentor, and listen
• Ability to see big picture and effectively operate with minimum information
• Strong communication skills
• Programme management capabilities including strong co-ordination skills across multiple sites

• 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager
• 5+ years’ experience in Transformation Programmes (Lean Transformation, Operational Excellence, Continuous Service/Process Improvement etc.)
• Previous experience of working as an external and Internal consultant with a recognized consultancy company
• Experience working in an Agile / Kanban environment
• IT based degree, university degree, or equivalent work experience required and banking qualifications
• Project Management certification (PMI or PRINCE2)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (min) from Banking Industry
